![]() ![]() Every card should have one of these) Instructions on site for use (Props to Narin)Īnd I would say bookmark Romulation. (the same guys, but this is a database for cheats. Http://(these guys are on the cutting edge of rom hacking and are the ones who most often find a patch or hack for a game that's not working) I also reccomend you bookmark the following Prevents you from getting right to the end of the download only to have it fail. Works a lot better than the standard download built in to firefox / IE and allows you to resume a download anytime if it fails or corrupts. If the government is looking for you, it won't be near enough to keep them from finding you (they can always subpeona your ISP if it comes to that, but they're more interested in the people who are uploading the files, rather than those who are downloading them.)ĮDIT: I also reccomend you use firefox, along with Downthemall. It works on most NDS games too, and was an alternate to using the Hex editor for the kingdom hearts game.Īlso, a note to callumsalter (original poster) You don't need peerguardian. IPSwin - I used to use this for GBA roms, most memorably applying an english patch to fire emblem - sealed sword. PeerGurdian blocks connections for the configured IP ranges and logs the blocked connections. ![]() There are better programs out there for that sort of thing, but none as user friendly. PeerGuardian is a tiny IP blocker program especially designed for P2P software users, but also to anyone who is concerned about the investigations that corporations and authorities perform on the internet. Mostly used for unpacking roms for a arm7 patch. Its origin seeds in targeting aggressive IPs while you use P2P and is a Firewall in the file sharing category. Worked for Kingdom Hearts 358/2, likely it will be useful in the future.ĭSlazy - not used as much as it used to be, but it does a variety of things. PeerGuardian is described as privacy oriented firewall application. It blocks connections to and from hosts specified in huge blocklists (thousands or millions of IP ranges). XVI32 (hex editor) use this for the quick and dirty copy protection fix. Instead of 7-zip, I reccomend Winrar, compression isn't as good as 7-zip (generally, they're getting better) but it's simpler to use and not nearly as intrusive. Thank you in advance for any knowledge or wisdoms that will lead to safer seeding practices.Tokyotrim - to trim excess rom data (makes the file smaller) currently using windows 7 but am looking for solutions for either win7 or ubuntu/mint, depending on the quality of protection i can obtain will determine which system i set up for seeding purposes. i am not afraid of being technical either, i have some experience with python3 and C# CMD/Terminal. if anyone can give me any helpful hints or point me towards some tutorials for private seeding it would be very appreciated. i simply do not want to be a drain on the community or a selfish downloader. i know phoenixlabs offers some solutions, but they dont seem 100% secure and require obtaining things like lists of IP addresses, which is really a craps shoot as to whether it will actually block my ISP. ![]() I cant currently afford a VPN and have had little luck finding a reliable one for free. does tribler offer built in solutions? if not, what external programs or systems would i need to run to prevent my ISP from knowing that i am seeding? ![]() i am curious about possible safe ways to seed without being caught by my ISP. My ISP fairly well dominates the area i live in, and they are very strict about torrenting. anyway, alot of torrent clients require a VPN or peerguardian or something of the vaine to be able to safely seed or download without your ISP finding out, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and not seed at all in order to download without getting a cease letter from your ISP or possibly face copyright legal issues. Hello, i am faily new to the Tribler community, but i have some years in the torrenting department. ![]()
